Location

The main square, as a sequence of spaces with different characteristics, will lead dynamically from the icon-like bridging structure arching over main road No. 6 all the way to the Danube Bank. The spaces of different sizes and characteristics will accommodate everything, from outdoor picnics, through events intended to mobilise large numbers of people, to festive occasions serving to organise this part of the city into a community.

The main square will act as a meeting point for various functions; communal facilities, business premises and residential buildings will make the square a complex unit. The square itself may also be used as a market place, an event space or as a promenade for walking. The main square running directly to the Danube will elevate the river to the status of a major spatial component that may be construed as part of the square.

In a unique manner, the project preserves some one half of the area as green space. Attractive public parks, public space ponds and fountains create a unique residential and work environment in the immediate vicinity of the Danube. Intensified green areas, characterised theme gardens create an overall natural green texture throughout the entire area of the Duna Spirit project.
