Danube Bank

In planning the Duna Spirit Project, particular emphasis was laid on the importance of the river link. The almost 1.5-km-long natural green promenade along the Danube Bank that originates from the main square becomes a part of the city via a natural link as a unique feature in Budapest. The planned landscaping features of the promenade built above the flood protection line divide the entire river bank according to the various functions of this district.

The protected natural flora and birds of the sands along the promenade on the bank of the river will remain intact. In order to enhance the link to and the enjoyment of the sandy bank and to fully honour the integrity of the nature conservation area, a network of wooden planks will be built on top of the sands as a path for walkers. The path will create an alternative link between the various functions on the bank (water sports complex, water taxi rank, yacht port) and will provide direct access to the river bank.

The Promenade built along the river bank is the ideal place for rambling, a meeting point, or jogging or other recreational sport activities. Restaurants and cafes housed in the pavilions shall provide an invitation for culinary adventures. Colourful in style, an ambience is set for lively meetings or intimate dinners.
